The organizations of St. Patrick Church are the embodiment of our parish community. They are where people pray together, learn, teach, get help, give help, and demonstrate their faith as active members of the community. You are invited to join these organizations. Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary is a lay apostolic association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces, serve the Church and their neighbor on a voluntary basis in about 170 countries. The first meeting of the Legion of Mary took place in Myra House, Francis Street, Dublin, Ireland, on 7 September, 1921. This meeting was to have very beneficial consequences for the mission of the Catholic Church and, in a special way, for millions of members of Christ’s lay faithful who would serve in the Legion and for those who would be served by the legionary apostolate. Many persons outside the Catholic Church would also benefit from that apostolate. With the approval and support of the Popes and a great many Bishops, Priests and Religious, as well as the prayers and efforts of legionaries, the Legion, by the grace of God, has grown into a worldwide organization with several million members.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
The mission of the St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) of San Francisco – St. Patrick conference is to offer hope and service on a direct person-to-person basis, working to break the cycles of homelessness, substance abuse and domestic violence. We are groups of volunteers who seek to grow by serving those in need in our parish community and to support most of the SVdP programs. We believe in recognizing the humanity in each and every one of us, no matter who we are or how we live. Every day, we welcome hundreds of women, children and men who are alone and suffering. We know from experience that no one can change or grow until they feel stable and cared for, so that’s where we start: by showing them kindness, unconditional respect, help them restore their dignity and provide them the support they need to begin their journey.
The group is composed of parishioners with strong and deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. As a devotional group it is dedicated to live the Fatima mandate revealed by Our Lady of Fatima on May 13, 1917 to pray the Rosary everyday for peace and unity of all humanity. The group also organizes the annual Flores de Mayo celebration preceded by the daily recitation of the Rosary and the Floral Offering to Mary during the month of May. The group also takes the lead in celebrating the month of October as the Rosary Month. The month long celebration culminates in the praying of the Living Rosary on the last Sunday of October. As a parish organization it is also involved in the many parish activities and events. The group meets every 1st Saturday of the month after the 5:15 PM mass.
Sacred Heart Group
The group is dedicated to promote the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Every 1st Friday of the month we assemble at St. Patrick Church to pray the Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament. This is followed by Benediction and Mass. After the 5:15pm Mass we have a meeting and fellowship to discuss future projects and plans. The group is also involved in the many parish activities and events. For more information please contact: Estela "Teng" Sullivan at 415-359-7564 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Charismatic Prayer Group
The mission of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal is to educate believers into the totality of the declaration of the gospels. This is done by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; a one-to-one relationship with Jesus is seen as a possibility by the Charismatic. He is encouraged to talk to Jesus directly and search for what The Lord is saying so that his life will be one with Him; to walk in the Fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 this is what the Charismatic understands by giving his life to Jesus.
